John Henry + Julianna
High school sweethearts turned lifelong partners
From their early days passing notes in class to adopting two ridiculously cute fur babies, Barley and Rye, John Henry and Julianna’s love story has been one big, joyful adventure. Whether they’re hunting down the best food spots, competing side-by-side in co-ed soccer, or just hanging with the pets at home, they make even the ordinary feel special.
Their relationship has weathered all kinds of distance — emotional and literal. Freshman year of college, they were only an hour apart, but without a car, it felt like worlds away. Between borrowing Alisha’s car or hopping on the Greyhound, they made every effort to see each other (and got really good at logistics). As their years together grew, so did the distance — at one point, with John Henry in graduate school, they were nearly eight hours apart. Still, they managed to see each other at least once a month, proving that love (and maybe a little caffeine) can conquer all.
The big turning point came when John Henry graduated and was job hunting — a search that ultimately landed them in Memphis, TN. While it might not be their forever home, Memphis will always be the place where their chapter of living together began. It's where they welcomed Barley and Rye, and introduced Julianna to the magic that is banana pudding (seriously — yum).
When they’re not jet-setting, you’ll often find Julianna happily sampling one of John Henry’s “five-star” culinary creations — he’s known for turning any kitchen into a gourmet experience.
From teenage sweethearts to long-distance warriors, kitchen experiments to tropical proposals, Julianna and John Henry are the kind of couple that makes love look like the best kind of adventure — a little chaotic, full of laughter, and always worth it.
